CH2 Location: Ward unit - building CH, entrance CH2, -1st floor

Introduction:

The department provides treatment of all acute musculoskeletal injuries, including fractures of the pelvis and the acetabulum and sport traumatology, with the exception of spinal injuries. It is also involved in the management of polytraumatized patients. Special attention is focused on the treatment of complications of injuries, particularly nonunions, malunions and infection complications.

Elective operations include mainly primary and revision hip and knee total replacements, osteotomies and coverage procedures of the hip joint, including DDH and posttraumatic complications in adolescents and adults, osteotomies of the knee joint, arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, ankle and wrist joints.

The department is equipped will instruments and implants at the standard European level and uses all available techniques of internal fixation. The department cooperates with AO/ASIF and prominent orthopaedic and traumatology departments, mainly in Germany and Switzerland. It is also actively involved in lecturing and publication activities, including publications in international journals with IF.

Outpatient clinic:

The department provides both acute and planned comprehensive care not only for members of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic but for all patients from the Czech Republic.

Acute injuries are treated at an independent Emergency department 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Planned visits to the outpatient clinic are scheduled for the respective date and hour from Monday to Friday between 8.30 a.m. and 15.00 p.m.

Structure of the Department

The department has a total capacity of 74 beds and is divided into three wards:

  • Station 1 – Elective orthopaedics (total hip and knee arthroplasty, osteotomies etc.)
  • Station 2 - Traumatology for patients with acute musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Section 3 - General Orthopaedics for patients with specific orthopaedic disorders including infection complications.

Extra services:

The orthopaedic department offers fully equipped single rooms and apartments.

  • Price for apartment:  CZK 735 / day
